Global reinsurer Swiss Re has revealed that Chris Minter will take over as Head of its Alternative Capital Partners (ACP) division, succeeding Philipp Rüede, who is leaving the firm after 12 years of service.

As Reinsurance News understands, Rüede is set to depart Swiss Re to pursue other opportunities.

“We would like to thank Philipp for his significant contribution to ACP’s success, and we wish him well in his future endeavours,” a Swiss Re spokesperson commented.

Chris Minter has worked for 11 years at Swiss Re and currently serves as Head of Principal Investments & Acquisitions (PIA).

Before joining the reinsurer in 2013, Minter was at Deutsche Bank for over 10 years, operating in senior roles such as Global Head and CEO of DB Private Equity.

Preceding this, Minter spent 7 years at PwC helping insurance and banking clients. He has additionally held several non-executive director positions at listed insurance and financial services firms.

“In addition to his 11 years at Swiss Re, Chris brings leadership experience from his prior roles at Deutsche Bank as Global Head of Private Equity and Global Head of Corporate Development, as well as extensive listed company Board experience,” the aforementioned Swiss Re spokesperson added.

Swiss Re’s ACP was founded in 2019 and oversees all of the reinsurer’s activities with alternative capital investors, as well as in the catastrophe bond and insurance-linked securities (ILS) market.
