Chris Wallace to head up QBE UK insurance business

25th October 2021 - Author: Matt Sheehan

Chris Wallace has been appointed Executive Director of QBE’s UK Insurance business, taking over the role from Cécile Fresneau.

QBEFresneau was promoted to run the European Operations Insurance division earlier this year.

Wallace will take up his role effective November 1st, and will report to Fresneau.

Upon assuming leadership for the UK business, Wallace will also retain his current responsibilities as Executive Director for Europe.

He will lead both the UK and Europe businesses until 31 March 2022, at which point he will hand over the Europe role to a yet to be appointed person.

Wallace has been with QBE since 2008 and has held a number of senior positions during his tenure, most recently overseeing the expansion of QBE’s European portfolio.

“Chris was instrumental in driving change across our European portfolio and has ensured our teams across Europe are on track to deliver their ambitious growth plans,” said Fresneau.

“We have a clear opportunity to strategically expand our business in the UK and I have every confidence that Chris is the person to help make that happen.”
