Christian Howell is joining Willis Re, a reinsurance advisory and broking joint venture between Bain Capital (BCIS) and WTW, as a member of the senior team responsible for spearheading its launch into the global life reinsurance sector.
Most recently, Howell served at Macquarie Asset Management, where he worked as the Head of International Insurance Solutions, focusing on helping insurance clients develop investment strategies across private markets.
Prior to this, the executive spent over 16 years at Schroders in various leadership roles covering global insurance clients, specialising in Asia-Pacific.
In addition to his experience in the life insurance industry, Howell has extensive experience working with insurers, reinsurers, and institutional investors on investment and asset-liability management solutions, with a particular focus on capital efficiency, risk-based capital regimes, liquidity, and long-term portfolio construction.
