Chubb has appointed Mike Williams as Executive Vice President and Manufacturing Industry Practice Leader for its North American mid-market segment.
Williams will now be responsible for leading Chubb’s strategic efforts to drive results for its mid-market business in North America by leveraging the company’s portfolio of underwriting, claims and risk engineering solutions, and by strengthening relationships with distribution partners.
Most recently, Williams was the Western Zone Underwriting Officer for CNA Insurance, although before this he spent 27 years at Chubb, joining the company as a Commercial Lines Underwriter in 1989 and progressing through a number of leadership roles within underwriting.
Jim West, Executive Vice President and North America Industry Practice Leader at Chubb, said: “The business environment is evolving at a rapid pace and creating enormous opportunities for manufacturers across the U.S.
“Mike is a talented and seasoned industry veteran with strong underwriting experience, and his background is an ideal fit for identifying key trends in this dynamic industry and aligning Chubb’s capabilities with the needs of our clients to help them better manage risks in the midst of this manufacturing resurgence.”
Williams will succeed Mark Locke as Manufacturing Industry Practice Leader, who is retiring at the end of 2018 after a 27-year career at Chubb.
For the remainder of 2018, Locke will assist Williams as Deputy Industry Practice Leader to ensure a smooth transition of leadership for the 48 branches that represent Chubb’s Manufacturing Industry practice in North America.
West added: “Mark and his team have built a solid franchise that has served Chubb well throughout the years. On behalf of the entire senior management team, we thank Mark for his leadership and all of his contributions, and wish him all the very best during retirement.”
