Property and casualty (P&C) insurer Chubb has announced a number of new leadership appointments, including Ana Robic and Ben Rockwell as Senior Vice President, Chubb Group.
Robic is the current Vice President, Chubb Group and Division President, North America Personal Risk Service. Rockwell, Vice President, Chubb Group and Division President, North America Middle Market.
They will both retain their current responsibilities and continue to report to Juan Luis Ortega, Executive Vice President, Chubb Group and President, North America Insurance, and Scott Meyer, Senior Vice President, Chubb Group and Chief Operating Officer, North America Insurance.
The current Global Chief Underwriting Officer, Small Commercial, Jason Ranucci will succeed Jeffrey Updyke as Head of North America Lower Middle Market.
In his new role, Ranucci will have overall responsibilities for the strategy, underwriting, and P&L for the lower middle market segment. He will also continue to maintain executive underwriting responsibilities over Small Commercial.
Updyke will now lead a newly created role as Executive Vice President, North America Commercial Insurance & Digital Distribution. He will be responsible for focusing on expanding Chubb’s reach and influence in the lower middle market and small commercial segments through the company’s broker distribution partners.
John DePeters, Senior Vice President, Underwriting & Portfolio Management, Small Commercial, has been appointed Chief Underwriting Officer, Small Commercial.
He will be responsible for underwriting and portfolio management for North America Small Commercial Insurance.
DePeters will report to Ranucci and Robert Poliseno, Division President of North America Small Commercial Insurance and President of North America Digital.
Updyke will report to Christopher Maleno, who was recently appointed Senior Vice President, Chubb Group and Vice Chairman, North America Insurance.
Additionally, Chubb has appointed David Lupica, the current Chief Operating and Distribution Management Officer, Westchester, Vice President, Chubb Group and Division President of Westchester.
He will have executive operating responsibility for Chubb’s wholesale excess and surplus (E&S) lines business in North America.
Lupica succeeds Scott Meyer, who was recently promoted to Senior Vice President, Chubb Group and Chief Operating Officer, North America Insurance.
The executive will report to both Meyer and Juan Luis Ortega, Executive Vice President, Chubb Group and President, North America Insurance.
The P&C insurer also reorganised its Latina American Region into three sub-regions, Northern Latin America, Southern Latin America and Brazil, and appointed leaders for each territory.
With this move, Chubb aims to better serve customers and distribution partners, as well as to take full advantage of future growth opportunities throughout Latin America.
The current Country President of Mexico Diego Sosa will have expanded responsibility over Northern Latin America.
He will retain his current responsibilities for Mexico, and will also lead a sub-region that includes Central America, Panama and Puerto Rico. The Country Presidents of these additional geographies will now report to Sosa.
The responsible for Southern Latin America will be Mario Romanelli, who currently is the Country President of Chile and head of the company’s Andean Region.
In addition to retaining his current responsibilities for Chile, Romanelli will lead a sub-region that includes Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia and Peru; with the Country Presidents of these additional geographies reporting to him.
Finally, Leandro Martinez, the Country President of Brazil, will retain his current responsibilities for this significant territory.
The three Presidents will continue to report to Federico Spagnoli, Regional President, Latin America and Division President, Consumer Lines, Overseas General Insurance.
