Chubb names Jason Luyt as CUO for International A&H

Global re/insurer Chubb has announced the appointment of Jason Luyt as Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer, International Accident & Health (IAH).

ChubbHe is currently serving as Chief Underwriter for the division’s leisure travel and direct market business until his appointment comes into place on 1st January.

In his new role, Luyt will have direct responsibility for all IAH underwriting functions, including underwriting governance and controls, product development, and learning and development, across all business segments for the division’s A&H operations in 51 countries and territories outside North America.

He will continue to report to John Thompson, Division President, International Accident & Health, Overseas General Insurance.

Luyt joined the company in 2015 as Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer of Leisure Travel & Direct Market Underwriting. Prior to joining Chubb in 2015, he held local, regional and global management-levels positions at American International Group.

He will be succeeding Deborah Venella, who will retire in early 2021 after a 47-year career at Chubb and predecessor companies.
