Compre has appointed Zameer Mitha to be its chief actuary for North America.
Despite the job title, Compre said that Mitha will be based in London and report to Mark Lawson, group chief actuary, with some time spent in Bermuda.
Mitha will be responsible for transaction pricing, reserving, and actuarial reporting activities for Compre’s North America platform.
Pricing, reserving, and reporting activities for Compre’s European and Lloyd’s platforms will continue to be handled by Davin Patel, head of actuarial for Europe and Lloyd’s.
Lawson said in a statement: “I am extremely pleased to welcome Zameer to Compre who will be a great asset to our actuarial team. His extensive experience will be enormously beneficial, not least his sell side perspective which will be invaluable in the delivery of bespoke solutions to our clients.
“I look forward to working with him as we further develop our North American business, a core market for Compre.”
Compre an international specialist legacy group, has made headlines in recent months for its acquisition of SiriusPoint’s legacy portfolio for $417m in November, which followed its hiring of Brid Reynolds as its chief risk officer a few days before that.
