Compre has appointed David Presley to be its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for North America.

Presley, said the legacy specialist, will join the firm at the end of April and will report to Will Bridger, group CEO.

Bridger said in a statement: “I am delighted to welcome David to Compre, whose deep experience spans the spectrum of Legacy transactions from LPTs to ADCs to IBTs and reinsurance novations. His strong origination expertise and relevant relationships will be extraordinarily valuable as we continue to build our business in North America.”

Presley joins Compre from Swiss Re America, where, as vice president and senior legacy origination manager, he was responsible for the origination of all US legacy deals. Prior to joining Swiss Re in 2019, Presley spent eight years at Enstar US as a vice president and commutations manager. He began his career as an attorney in 2003 at The Bazil Group.

Presley’s hiring comes as the firm has been buttressing its North American team this year. In February, it appointed Zameer Mitha as chief actuary for North America (although based in London).
