Conifer adds ex Swiss Re exec to Board

26th August 2020 - Author: Matt Sheehan

Former Swiss Re executive Timothy M. Lamothe has been added to the Board of Directors of Conifer Holdings, a Michigan-based insurance holding company.

Lamothe, who served as Senior Vice President for Swiss Re from 2001 to 2019, will initially serve on Conifer’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Lamothe has more than 38 years’ experience in the reinsurance industry, with particular expertise in the development and implementation of marketing programs throughout the US.

Prior to Swiss Re, Lamothe held senior level marketing positions at PXRE Reinsurance Company, General Re/National Reinsurance Corporation, AIG, and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.

Conifer believes his expertise in marketing specialty insurance programs will help the company to expand its commercial and personal lines businesses.

“We are very pleased to welcome Tim to Conifer’s Board of Directors,” said Conifer Chairman and CEO James Petcoff. “We expect to benefit enormously from his significant experience in the reinsurance industry and his counsel in general.”

With the addition of Lamothe, Conifer’s Board of Directors remains at nine members, as the appointment closely follows the departure of Jorge Morales earlier this month.

Petcoff added: “We would also like to thank Jorge Morales for his years of service on Conifer’s Board. We wish him the best in all his future endeavors.”

Conifer’s Board of Directors also confirmed the appointments of Isolde G. O’Hanlon to its Compensation Committee and R. Jamison Williams, Jr. to the Audit Committee.
