Cowbell, a provider of AI-native cyber and specialty insurance solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), has launched Risk Advisor, an individualised AI agent that provides policyholders an evidence-backed plan for reducing their cyber risk.

Cowbell logoThese AI agents operate within OMNI, Cowbell’s recently launched AI-native Decision Intelligence System, designed to support the future development, underwriting and delivery of specialty insurance products.

Available through the Cowbell Platform and Cowbell OMNI mobile app, each Risk Advisor is grounded in the policyholder’s own cybersecurity posture and policy context. It connects Cowbell Factors, Spotlights, security findings, inside-out connector data and real-time threat intelligence to identify what matters most, explain why and recommend practical next steps.

Rajeev Gupta, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Cowbell, said, “A 40-person manufacturer shouldn’t need a team of cybersecurity specialists to understand the risks it faces.

“With OMNI, every Cowbell policyholder gets their own AI Risk Advisor, grounded in their business, security posture, and policy context. It continuously interprets the signals around that business, prioritizes what matters, explains the evidence supporting its recommendations, and connects the policyholder with Cowbell’s cybersecurity experts when human guidance is needed. This is how cyber insurance becomes an active part of a company’s resilience, rather than a document sitting in a drawer.”

Cowbell said businesses typically have access to extensive security information but limited time or expertise to interpret it. To address this, Risk Advisor brings these signals together and explains what they mean for each business. It can identify which factors are influencing a risk score, which findings and Spotlights should be addressed first, what a vulnerability means for the organisation, and which actions are most relevant to its systems and exposures.

Regarding organisations deploying AI, Risk Advisor interprets three AI Cowbell Factors™: AI Exposure for observability, AI Vulnerability for autonomy and AI Assurance for governance. It explains the signals behind each and prioritises actions to strengthen their AI risk posture.

It prioritises recommendations by urgency and potential risk reduction, explaining why it matters with supporting evidence. This helps policyholders address immediate concerns while building a longer-term security plan.

“A policyholder can ask why their risk score changed this week and get a specific answer,” added Gupta. “Risk Advisor identifies the findings behind the change, distinguishes confirmed detections from advisory indicators, and prioritises actions that could have the greatest impact. That combination of specificity, grounding, and transparency is what makes AI actionable for policyholders.”

Over 60 Cowbell Connectors are available to strengthen Risk Advisor’s guidance by providing deeper visibility into each policyholder’s environment. Risk Advisor explains the insights each connection adds, summarises findings from connected tools and recommends mitigations tailored to the configurations it observes.

Each Risk Advisor draws on OMNI’s self-healing operational ontology and Cowbell’s Global Risk Pool of more than 55 million businesses. As the platform and risk environment evolve, OMNI continuously validates this model against live operations, incorporating routine changes automatically and escalating material differences for human review. This enables Risk Advisor’s insights to remain current without manual rework.

Risk Advisor delivers guidance grounded in evidence specific to each policyholder. Every recommendation remains connected to its supporting signals and sources, giving policyholders visibility into what informed the guidance before they decide how to act.

When an issue requires specialised support, Risk Advisor can connect the policyholder with relevant Cowbell Resiliency Services (CRS) and Cowbell’s in-house cybersecurity experts. This combination of AI-driven guidance and human expertise gives policyholders a clearer path from identifying a risk to taking action.
