Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. has announced the hiring of David Higley as Head of U.S. property and inland marine, reporting to Ron Vindivich, President, E&S, Colony Specialty.
Higley joins from The Hartford, and in his new role will lead the firm’s U.S. property unit, which is made up of Alteris Property, Colony Specialty Property and Ariel Specialty Insurance Managers, while also leading Argo’s inland marine unit.
Vindivich, commented; “This is a significant step in simplifying Argo’s property business in an effort to enhance service and accelerate growth. The newly combined operation also enables us to more clearly articulate our business appetite.
“David’s extensive industry expertise, proven ability to lead profitable books of business, and established network of strong client relationships make him the ideal candidate to realize the full potential of our U.S. property business.”
Higley brings nearly 30 years of industry experience to the role, most recently serving as The Hartford’s Vice President, head of marine and livestock segments.
Before The Hartford, Higley worked at Allianz Global & Corporate Specialty (AGCS), a division of global insurer Allianz, and also spent time with Fireman’s Fund, HONY Workers Compensation Trust, and United Community Insurance.
