Sonja Hoffmann is set to take over from Frank Versluis as Director Underwriting at Deutsche Rückversicherung Switzerland Ltd (DR Swiss) on July 1st, 2024.
In her new role, Hoffmann will be based in Zurich and will report to Achim Bosch, Managing Director of DR Swiss and Executive Board member of Deutsche Rück Group.
She has been with the firm since 2009, was appointed authorised signatory in 2010, and is currently responsible for the Dutch market and leads the Technical Underwriting department, which she will continue to manage in her new role.
Previously, Hoffmann was also responsible for Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, and selected cedants in Germany.
“In Sonja Hoffmann, we are gaining a very experienced colleague for the Head of Underwriting, who has already been working for DR Swiss for 15 years and is therefore very familiar with the company and its clients. On behalf of the entire Executive Board, I personally wish her every success in her new role,” said Bosch.
Versluis, Hoffmann’s predecessor, is stepping down from his role at the company and will pursue new professional challenges in the future.
“Frank Versluis not only guided his team through the difficult and challenging times of the pandemic, but also shaped the reorganisation of underwriting and successfully managed the generational change in the team,” added Bosch.
