Direct Line Group appoints Maz Bown as new Group Chief Risk Officer

UK-based insurer Direct Line Group (DLG) has recently announced the appointment of Maz Bown to the position of Chief Risk Officer.

In her new role, Bown will oversee the management and control of key risks across the business, ensuring both the Executive team and the Board have a comprehensive understanding.

Adam Winslow, Chief Executive Officer of Direct Line Group, expressed enthusiasm for Brown’s appointment, stating, “I am delighted to welcome Maz Bown to the Group and as part of my new management team.”

Winslow added, “With an impressive depth of knowledge and experience as a leader in risk management, Maz is a very welcome addition to the leadership of our business.”

Bown joins DLG from Aviva, where she has worked for nearly 22 years, starting in 2002 as an Actuarial Analyst. During her tenure at Aviva, she held various leadership roles, including overseeing risk functions in both the UK and Canadian markets. Most recently, she served as Chief Risk Officer SMF4, Aviva Insurance Limited.
