Dominick Hoare, Group Chief Underwriting Officer, Munich Re Specialty, Global Markets and Active Underwriting Syndicate 457, is set to retire at the end of 2026 after more than 32 years of service.

Hoare joined Munich Re, one of Europe’s big four reinsurance companies, in 1994 and has held various senior underwriting and leadership positions during his tenure.

He is well known in the London Market and beyond, with Munich Re highlighting his “deep technical expertise, sound judgement and commitment to clients, brokers and colleagues.”

In his current role, Hoare has helped strengthen underwriting governance and technical standards, and has played a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the firm’s underwriting business.

John Wilkinson, CEO of Munich Re Specialty, Global Markets, said: “Dominick has made an exceptional contribution to Munich Re over more than three decades. He is highly respected for his underwriting flair, technical expertise and thoughtful leadership, and has played an important role in strengthening how we engage with clients and brokers across the market.”

Hoare will retain his current position for the remainder of the year to ensure continuity and support the business. While no replacement has been announced, Munich Re says that further updates will be shared in due course.
