Doran to join James River Group as CFO, leaving Allied World

Sarah Doran is joining Bermuda based insurance and reinsurance holding company James River Group Holdings, Ltd. as Chief Financial Officer in the New Year, leaving her current role at Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, AG.

Doran has been with Allied World, the re/insurer that is set to merge with Prem Watsa’s Fairfax Financial, since April 2013 where she held the role of Senior Vice President, Strategy, Treasurer and Investor Relations.

Doran was previously at Barclays, where as a Director in the Financial Institutions Group, she worked on strategic transactions including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and capital raising for the insurance and reinsurance industry. Prior to that Doran was with Lehman Brothers.

Doran joins James River Group on January 16th 2017, and the new role will see her take responsibility for finance, accounting and financial reporting, investments, corporate development and strategy, internal audit, treasury and investor relations across the insurance and reinsurance group.
