Global insurance and reinsurance broker Aon has announced the appointment of Esther Kim as Director, Treaty on the Korea and Regional team.
The executive, who brings over 15 years of experience to her new role, will be based in Singapore and report to Katy Fairweather, Aon’s Head of Global Reinsurance Clients, Asia.
Kim’s career encompasses underwriting, actuarial science, catastrophe modelling, and multi-line broking (Property, Casualty, Marine, Credit & Surety), providing her with a comprehensive risk perspective and enabling tailored solution delivery.
She is joining Aon from Swiss Re Asia, where she most recently served as Senior Product Manager, Public Sector Solutions (PSS).
As a PSS technical expert working closely with the underwriting, client management, structured solutions, cat perils and alternative risk transfer teams.
Kim developed and structured innovative re/insurance solutions tailored to climate catastrophe risks across the entire APAC region plus traditional and non-traditional risk transfer solutions to help disaster risk management for 30+ public sector clients in APAC.
Prior to Swiss Re, she spent over 12 years at HIS Korea, where she held a number of roles, including Casualty Fac Broker; Treaty Broker, Deputy General Manager; Chief Catastrophe modeler & DFA analyst.
