Bermudian reinsurer Everest Re has announced that Juan C. Andrade has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO), before taking over as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company from January 1, 2020.
He will succeed outgoing CEO Dominic J. Addesso, whose retirement was announced back in January 2019.
Andrade joins Everest Re from Chubb, where he most recently held the position of Executive Vice President of Chubb Group and President, Overseas General Insurance.
At Chubb, he was responsible for Chubb’s general insurance business in over 50 countries outside of North America, including commercial P&C, traditional and specialty personal lines, and accident and health insurance.
Andradehas more than 25 years’ experience in the re/insurance industry, including leadership roles in underwriting, product development and innovation, claims, sales and distribution, strategy development, and general management.
Prior to ACE’s acquisition of Chubb in January 2016, he was an Executive Vice President, of ACE and the COO for ACE Overseas General, with responsibilities both in the US and internationally.
