EY hires Barclays Deputy Head of Insurance as a Director

Dan Broome has joined EY from Barclays Bank as a Director to support the development of an additional insurance sector offering as part of its Financial Services Debt Advisory division.

EY launched its Financial Services Debt Advisory team in September 2015, which now consists of seven people, and the appointment of Broome is another step towards its strengthening its transactions advice unit for Financial Services in Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa (EMEIA).

Dan BroomeThe team has a focus on supporting financial institutions in raising debt finance throughout their credit life cycle, which includes the “raising of asset backed growth capital and financing to support acquisitions,” explains EY.

Joining as a Director, Broome will work alongside Nick Parkhouse, Executive Director, EMEIA Financial Services, EY.

Parkhouse, said; “Since the addition of a debt offering to our financial services corporate finance team almost two years ago, we have continued to see increasing demand from clients. Our aim is to become the market leading financial services corporate finance advisor and we are delighted to have someone of Dan’s calibre come on board to help us achieve this.”

Broome joins EY from Barclays Bank, where he was most recently Deputy Head of Insurance coverage and helped to lead a 20-person team.

With a growing range of investors seeking to make capital and liquidity available to the insurance market, I believe independent advice and execution has become increasingly important, particularly as traditional lenders evolve to address regulatory change pressures.”
