Insurance broker and risk adviser Gallagher has appointed Laura Repko to the newly created role of Senior Director, Capital Solutions, for its global multidisciplinary Private Equity and M&A practice (PEMA).
This appointment underscores the broker’s commitment to serving lenders and borrowers involved in complex transactional situations and its continued investment in the broader M&A and capital advisory space.
In her new role, Repko will be based in London and focus on providing solutions across a range of lending scenarios to support the flow of finance, including credit enhancement, compliance with banking and accounting regulations, working capital financing, and capital event situations.
Additionally, she will work closely with Gallagher’s M&A Transactional Risk team and Real Estate Advisory team to ensure clients benefit from a fully integrated approach to their financial and strategic needs across a broad range of transactions.
Repko has over 15 years of corporate finance experience, with expertise in originating, structuring, and executing financial transactions across Europe, and a deep understanding of the transactional lifecycle for lenders and borrowers.
Most recently, she served at HSBC as an Investment Director, Direct Lending, and has worked extensively with private equity firms during her time at Deutsche Bank, Beechbrook Capital, and Permira Credit.
Steve Jones, Chief Executive Officer, PEMA Solution UK, Gallagher, commented, “Laura’s appointment is a significant step forward for our PEMA division. Her expertise in delivering innovative capital solutions will enhance our ability to support clients in bridging any gaps in expectation between lenders and borrowers, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional value to all stakeholders in any transaction.
“By focusing on understanding the financial dynamics driving deals and tailoring insurance-backed solutions to meet the unique needs of lenders and borrowers, Laura will enable clients to optimise their capital structures and alleviate any points of friction.”
Repko added, “This is an exciting time to be joining Gallagher, with its focus on building real breadth and depth of advisory and broking expertise to the benefit of lenders and borrowers. Private capital continues to be a huge driver of transformative growth around the world, and I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues to maximise deal-value creation for clients, every time, across a wide range of lending scenarios.”
Globally, Gallagher has invested heavily in the M&A, private capital and portfolio solutions space in the last year, building out a multidisciplinary team of advisors across EMEA and in the US.
