Gallagher has announced that it has promoted Steve Kluting to national director of product recall, within its Food & Agribusiness Practice Group.
Kluting joined Gallagher in 2014, and has 18 years of experience as a “food lawyer”, says Gallagher. He helps the firm’s food, beverage and restaurant clients prepare for food safety incidents, which includes product recalls as well as government enforcement actions.
Furthermore, Kluting also manages the negotiation, structuring and placement of product recall insurance coverage, and is certified as a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point manager.
National director of Gallagher’s Food & Agribusiness Practice Group, Glenn Drees, said: “We are excited to announce Steve’s promotion to the National Director position. This is a reflection of the positive impact he’s has had on his colleagues, carrier partners and food industry clients over the course of his career. Product recall is a significant risk facing our clients, and they rely on Steve’s insight and experience.”
Prior to Gallagher, Kluting spent over 13 years with a large corporate law firm, and also worked as chief strategy officer for a family-owned food wholesaler and retailer.
Ryan Isaacs, regional executive vice president, Great Lakes Region, added: “This is a well-deserved promotion for Steve. His insight into the particularities and nuances of product recall make him an invaluable and differentiating resource to his colleagues and clients.”
