Gian Sandosh Semadeni is joining Gallagher Re’s Public Sector & Climate Resilience Solutions global practice as Parametric Solutions Lead.
He will be working alongside Antoine Bavandi, who was appointed in 2022 to lead the new practice, and Dorra Berraies, who has spent four months serving at the practice as Senior Advisor.
Gallagher Re’s new climate resilience practice aims to help to manage and reduce the financial impact of climate and disaster risks on governments, re/insurers, banks and businesses worldwide.
As Parametrics solution Lead, Semadeni has also shared his objectives now he has started his new role.
These include driving forward the parametric and index insurance agenda across Gallagher Re globally. As well as identifying clear parametric value propositions for both public and private sector clients and ensuring the firm has strong and scalable product propositions in the space.
His objectives also include strengthening relationships with external stakeholders with parametric expertise, and to actively contribute to the Global Practice’s advisory services on climate resilience.
Semadeni joins Gallagher Re after three years at CelsiusPro, where he held several roles. These included Head DRF Consulting, DRF Consulting Lead and Insurance consultant.
Prior to that he spent two years at the World Bank Group as Disaster Risk Finance Analyst, and before that, as Disaster Risk Manager Consultant.
