Gallagher Re, the global reinsurance broking and advisory business of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has announced the appointment of Hans Groot as Executive Director, EMEA, effective 3 August 2026.
In his new role, Groot will work with the local team to develop new business opportunities in the Netherlands and across Europe, while partnering with the International MGA Committee to support the continued growth and development of Gallagher Re’s MGA business.
He brings extensive experience across the insurance and reinsurance sector, having worked as a reinsurance buyer, underwriter and broker in the Dutch market, most recently within the MGA space.
Groot joins Gallagher Re from DUAL Europe, where he served as Senior Advisor, Capacity Management Europe.
Prior to that, he was Director, Carrier Management at DUPI Group and spent 11 years at Aon, most recently serving as Chief Broking Officer.
