Louise Marling has been named as the successor to Gina Butterworth and will take over as reinsurance broker Gallagher Re’s UK Chief Operating Officer (COO), subject to regulatory approvals.
It was announced yesterday that Butterworth has been promoted to Global Transformation Director at Gallagher Re.
She will be replaced by Marling, who joins the broker from Hiscox UK, where she played an important role in establishing the integrated operations infrastructure for the UK business.
Marling brings expertise in transforming change and IT functions, implementing digital strategies, and overseeing the design and implementation of new operational capability.
Prior to working at insurer Hiscox, she was the COO for William Russell Ltd, responsible for strategy development, business planning, and managing strategic partnerships for IT and change, both in the UK and overseas.
In her new role, Marling will report to Ian Kerton, UK Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Gallagher Re.
