Gallagher Re names Ian Kerton as new CEO for UK region

Global reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has appointed Ian Kerton as CEO of its UK operations, replacing Tom Wakefield, who is to succeed James Kent as global CEO of Gallagher Re.

gallagher-re-logoThroughout his three-decade-long career, Kerton has held multiple roles within the reinsurance industry, including Executive Director at HSBC Insurance Brokers, where he headed up the Treaty broking team and was responsible for the firm’s business in the UK & Asia.

Before joining Gallagher Re as a Partner in its UK business in 2021, he was the Managing Director of the UK Property & Casualty team at Guy Carpenter and a Director of the UK Board.

In his new role, Kerton will report to Tom Wakefield, who, as mentioned earlier, will assume the position of global CEO at Gallagher Re starting from June 1st.
