Italian insurance giant Generali’s Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) business unit has appointed Mario Glanz as its new Head of Casualty.
In his new role, Glanz will focus on further expanding GC&C’s casualty business worldwide under the insurer’s Next Level Plan.
Glanz has over two decades of industry experience dedicated to casualty underwriting, and he brings an international perspective, having worked across several European markets and the UK.
Most recently, he served as the Head of Casualty, Motor & PI Underwriting at the larger insurer Zurich Insurance, for over three years.
In the role, Glanz led Zurich’s commercial casualty business in Germany, managed various teams of underwriters, different product lines, portfolios, and reinsurance placements.
Prior to this, Glanz spent over a decade at Chubb, managing casualty and middle-market. His other roles at Chubb include serving as the Senior Underwriter Casualty (Group Function), Teamleader Casualty for South Germany, and Senior Underwriter Casualty.
In the past, Glanz has also spent over four years at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) as an Underwriting Liabilty. He started his career as a Consultant for Financial Industries in 2004.
