Reinsurance broker Aon Benfield’s Africa unit has revealed that Geoffrey Leathem will join its executive team with a focus on South African business, effective November 1st, 2018, reports BusinessTech.
As well as having a focus on South African operations, Leathem’s role will target strategic consulting on business development and broking strategy.
He joins the firm from reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, a division of Marsh, where he was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Guy Carpenter South Africa since 2014.
Prior to this he held senior positions at Hollandia Reinsurance Company (now Hannover Re), Price Forbes Insurance Brokers, and Marsh South Africa.
Between 2002 and 2004 he served as Council Member and then President of the IIG.
