Global Indemnity Group, LLC has named Reiner R. Mauer, formerly of United States Liability Insurance Company, as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of its insurance businesses and the company’s Principal Operating Officer.
Mauer brings 29 years’ experience in the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry to his new role, with a focus on commercial and personal lines insurance, specialty insurance and operations.
He joins Global Indemnity from Berkshire Hathaway’s United States Liability Insurance Company, where he most recently served as President of the P&C unit.
Prior to this, he served as Senior Vice President of Business Operations and as a member of the senior management team at Talk America Holdings, Inc. Earlier in his career, Mauer worked at Old Guard Insurance Group for 13 years and during that time served as Executive Vice President for Personal Lines.
