Grinnell Re, a division of Grinnell Mutual, has launched a new team, National Reinsurance, to expand its reach to broader re/insurance market territories including the broker market and the broader property-casualty insurance space.
Rick Tjarks, assistant vice president, and Randy Dammeyer, senior account executive, have been appointed to head up the National Reinsurance team.
Reinsurance Vice-President Kevin Farrell, said the team will enable the firm to cater to clients outside of its traditional market space; “The customer profile we target in the National Reinsurance space may be somewhat larger, but can look very similar to smaller mutual clients in many ways.”
“Grinnell Mutual has made a conscious effort to focus on growth, which is the key to any successful organization. That often means expansion into unfamiliar territory,” said Tjarks.

Grinnell Mutual – currently the largest primary reinsurer of farm mutual companies in North America – added that it would continue to take advantage of growth opportunities in its traditional farm mutual marketplace.
