Hamilton Global Specialty, an underwriting platform of Hamilton Insurance Group, has recently announced the appointment of Niamh O’Brien as Chief Actuary.
In her new role, O’Brien will report directly to Wilfred Chin, who was recently promoted to Group Chief Actuary at Hamilton Group.
Alex Baker, Group Chief Risk Officer at Hamilton Insurance Group, expressed his enthusiasm for O’Brien’s appointment, stating, “We are thrilled to appoint Niamh to Chief Actuary at Hamilton Global Specialty.”
He added, “Her exceptional skills and extensive experience with our company will significantly enhance our actuarial capabilities and support our strategic objectives.
“The combined talent and leadership of Niamh and Wilfred, along with our dedicated actuarial team, will undoubtedly drive our actuarial function to new heights.”
O’Brien brings over 20 years of industry experience to her new role, having worked in various senior actuarial roles at firms such as Catlin, Hiscox, W. R. Berkley, and Tokio Marine Kiln.
She joined Hamilton in 2021, where she led key actuarial reserving activities and provided advisory support as an actuarial consultant.
