HDI Global SE, the industrial insurer of the HDI Group, has announced the appointment of Yves Betz to its management board, who will take over responsibility for the company’s business in Europe and North and South America.
As of 1 December 2019, he will succeed Stefan Sigulla, who is stepping down as part of a continued “generation change” in the management board, HDI Global said.
Betz joins from Zurich Insurance Company, where he most recently served as a member of the German management board and was in charge of the German Commercial Insurance business.
His previous positions at Zurich included Head of Commercial Insurance Mexico, Chief Operating Officer for Industrial Customer Business in Asia Pacific, and Head of Captive Related Business in Spain.

With the appointment of Betz, Jens Wohlthat will also take responsibility for the Liability Line, while continuing to head international business in the regions of Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Russia.
Before his appointment to the Management Board, Wohlthat had already held the position of Divisional Manager for the Liability Line.
From December, the management board will also consist of: Frank Harting, Industry Division, Group Division, Aviation Insurance; David Hullin, Property and Fire Insurance, Engineering Insurance, Marine Insurance, Motor Insurance, HDI Risk Consulting; Clemens Jungsthöfel, Chief Financial Officer; and Thomas Kuhnt, IT Demand, Operations, Technical Pricing, IP Adminstrations, Group Accident Insurance, Major Projects.
