HDI Global, a commercial and specialty lines insurer, has appointed François Périquet as its new Global Head of Engineering, effective February 1, 2025.
Périquet succeeds Dieter Spaar, who is retiring after eight years in the role. He will report directly to Dr. Dirk Höring, Member of the Executive Board of HDI Global, responsible for Property, Energy, Engineering, Marine, and HDI Risk Consulting.
Dr. Höring expressed enthusiasm for Périquet’s appointment, stating, “I am delighted to welcome François to my management team.”
He added, “With his strong expertise, experience and excellent market knowledge, François is a valuable addition to our team at HDI Global. I look forward to working with him and utilising his expertise to further develop our growth strategy in Engineering Underwriting.”
Commenting on Spaar’s departure, Höring said, “Dieter has had a lasting impact on the face of our Engineering division through his drive, knowledge, and consistently constructive contribution. His commitment and expertise have had a significant impact on our success, and we would like to thank him for this. We wish him a fulfilling retirement.”
Périquet brings over 20 years of corporate insurance experience to HDI Global. He joins from Zurich Commercial Insurance Middle East, where he served as Underwriting Manager for Energy.
Prior to that, he spent nearly seven years at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), most recently as Head of Energy & Construction for the Mediterranean, Africa, and Middle East Region. His earlier roles include positions at AIG, Vanbreda Risk & Benefits, and Chartis.
