Primary commercial specialist HDI Global SE (HDI) has announced the appointment of Michael Rüsch as the new Authorised Representative and Head of its Branch for Switzerland.
He will succeed Jürgen G. Decker from 1 August 2019, who has been an interim appointment to this post over the past few months.
Rüsch joins HDI Global from AXA XL, where he has held various underwriting and management positions over his career, having joined XL Catlin in 2002.
Most recently, he worked as Country Manager for Switzerland, and went on to become responsible for the European region as Head of Financial Lines.
Rüsch has two decades of experience in the industrial insurance sector and is well networked in the Swiss market, as well as internationally.
“On the back of his experience and international perspective, his enthusiasm for industrial insurance business and his dynamic approach, Michael Rüsch will ensure that HDI continues to expand its major presence and closeness to customers and sales partners in the Swiss market,” said Board Member Edgar Puls, who is responsible for the European region at HDI Global.
Following a change of executive management in the Branch for Switzerland last year, Decker temporarily took on the role of Head of Branch, in addition to his role as General Manager and Head Division Europe of HDI Global SE.
“We are very grateful to Jürgen Decker for taking on temporary management of the Branch for Switzerland and for making a huge effort to master two extremely challenging jobs over a period of several months,” added Puls.
