Howden appoints Junichiro Ito as Head of Natural Resources for Japan

Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Howden has appointed Junichiro Ito as Head of Natural Resources for Japan.

Howden logoIto brings more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of offshore wind, insurance, and risk management.

He joins Howden from GE Vernova, where he most recently served as Commercial Country Leader Japan Offshore Wind. In this role, he led policy engagement, sales and commercial strategy, and contract negotiations with key stakeholders including government, partners and customers, driving large-scale offshore wind initiatives, including floating wind and local supply chain development.

Prior to GE Vernova, Ito served as a Deputy Manager at Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd., overseeing renewable energy offshore wind underwriting, reinsurance, risk consulting and marketing.

Ito’s appointment marks a significant step towards strengthening Howden’s Natural Resources business across Asia.
