Global insurance and reinsurance broker Howden has announced the appointment of industry veteran Nagarajan Girishankar as Chair – Reinsurance, India.
Girishankar brings over 40 years of insurance broking experience to the role, with expertise spanning numerous sectors and lines of business, including property, marine, oil and gas energy, casualty, financial lines, and more.
In his new role, Girishankar will focus on expanding the company’s presence in India, particularly in sectors like oil and energy, marine, and property, as the country strengthens its insurance market.
Commenting on his appointment, Girishankar said: “I am honoured to join Howden. It is an esteemed and pedigreed organisation and will do my best to contribute to its growth and success!”
Prior to his Howden appointment, Girishankar served as Director for Pioneer Insurance & Reinsurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. for five years.
He also served at KM Dastur Reinsurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. for over two decades and worked as General Manager for Jubilee Insurance for three years following his eleven-year tenure at The New India Assurance Co. Ltd.
