Howden names Jean Bayon de La Tour as International Head of Cyber

In a strategic move to bolster its position in the face of escalating cyber threats, Howden, the global insurance group, has appointed Jean Bayon de La Tour as the International Head of Cyber, effective immediately.

This appointment marks a significant milestone in Howden’s initiative to attract top-tier broking talent, aligning with the surging demand from clients seeking robust insurance solutions against the rising tide of cyber-attacks, the company said.

The broader insurance market is responding dynamically to the escalating threat landscape, with the Cyber market projected to skyrocket from USD 12 billion in 2012 to an anticipated USD 50 billion by 2030, according to Howden’s latest 2023 Cyber Report.

Jean Bayon de La Tour, with a background in banking encompassing roles in Wealth Management and Internal Audit, previously spearheaded Marsh’s Cyber broking operations in France.

His tenure with Marsh culminated in his appointment as Managing Director and Head of Cyber for Marsh Europe. Maintaining his base in Spain, Bayon de La Tour will report directly to Shay Simkin, Group Global Head of Cyber at Howden.

Shay Simkin expressed the company’s commitment to advocating for clients in an ever-evolving and highly charged threat environment. He emphasised Howden’s dedication to supporting clients on their cyber journey by ensuring they possess the knowledge and tools necessary to enhance their businesses’ resilience.
