Hymans Robertson appoints Richard Purcell to Technical & Innovation Lead

Actuarial and advisory consultancy Hymans Robertson, which deals with longevity risk transfer and longevity reinsurance or swap transactions, has appointed Richard Purcell to the role of Technical and Innovation Lead within its Life and Financial Services practice.

Richard’s first-hand experience at the interface of insurance and technology, and successful track record of launching highly innovative products are critical for supporting successful outcomes for our clients in the next stages of their growth.”

Purcell joins from a role as Head of Technical Marketing with Vitality where he was responsible for innovation and marketing of new protection and retirement products.

Previously he held risk and valuation roles at Pensions Corporation and Willis Towers Watson.

Purcell is a member of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries working party on Risk Management in a Digital World and a member of the Protection Practitioners Group of ILAG; he also acts as Editor of The Actuary, the magazine of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries.
