IAG has appointed Tim Plant as Chief Insurance and Strategy Officer, a newly-created role that will see him oversee group governance across underwriting, claims and customer experience.
Plant will also be developing the implementation of IAG’s overall business strategy and take over control of the firm’s innovation and ventures activities.
He is expected to join the company before the end of the year.
Plant brings over 30 years’ experience in the general insurance industry, joining IAG from Zurich where he spent three years as Chief Executive Officer, General Insurance Australia and New Zealand.
In this role he was accountable for developing and driving its general insurance strategy and sustainable business growth, supported by strong risk management and governance.
