Managing general agent (MGA) Specialty MGA UK has expanded its expertise with the appointment of 40-year industry veteran, Jonathan Wingett, as Senior Underwriter for Agriculture.
Wingett is a renowned reinsurance underwriter and broker who has spent large parts of his career working across Asia, including Japan, Singapore and Malaysia.
During his time working in Asia, he established an agriculture practice with ACR (Asia Capital Reinsurance), forming the Asia Agriculture Pool, used to write agriculture reinsurance from across the globe.
In addition, Wingett has also previously worked in Kuwait for the country’s first licensed retakaful company, Al Fajer Re, and in Cyprus for Alliance Re, where he managed their underwriting operations on the Non-Marine Treaty account.
In his new role, Wingett is expected to be responsible for underwriting the agricultural portfolio, consisting of proportional and non-proportional treaties covering crop and livestock.
