Inga Beale, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the specialist Lloyd’s of London insurance and reinsurance marketplace, is to step down from her position in 2019.
Beale joined Lloyd’s in 2014, and during the last five years showed a commitment to the transformation of the marketplace, which includes significant cultural change and the adoption of new technology.
In 2013, she founded the Inclusion@Lloyd’s initiative which is celebrated through the annual Dive In festival, and she has helped to embed diversity and inclusion as a business imperative throughout the global insurance and reinsurance industry.
Beale, commented: “The decision to leave has been a tough one and when the time comes I will miss the energy, innovative spirit and expertise that I come across every working day. Leading Lloyd’s is an honour and I am proud to have played a part in ensuring that it remains relevant and fit for purpose for the future. The world trusts Lloyd’s to be there when it matters the most and I believe it is well placed for the next 330 years.”
Beale’s leaving date is yet to be confirmed, and Lloyd’s says that the search for a new CEO is underway.
