IQUW, the property, commercial and speciality re/insurer, has hired Dan Warburg as its new Head of Reinsurance, London.
The company has also promoted Rene Lamer to Head of Reinsurance, Bermuda.
Warburg was most recently at Lancashire’s Syndicate 2010, where he was a Reinsurance Underwriter.
With over 20 years’ experience in reinsurance, he had also previously been a Reinsurance Underwriter with Cathedral Underwriting.
Based in London, Warburg will report to Steven Tebbutt, Active Underwriter IQUW Syndicate 1856 and Stephen Young, Group Head of IQUW Reinsurance.
He will be tasked with leading and building the Specialty and Property Reinsurance book in London, building out the UK-based team alongside Property Lead Underwriters Ciaran Waters and Sarah Smith.

IQUW also announced that Rene Lamer has been appointed as Head of Reinsurance, Bermuda.
An integral part of the IQUW Bermuda team since November 2021, Lamer had previously been CEO of Sompo International’s Singapore branch.
IQUW also said today that it can now write business in Bermuda through a new coverholder agreement, IQUW Agency Bermuda Limited, further growing it’s global platform and increasing its business remit in Bermuda.
The company can now write Property and Specialty Reinsurance business on IQUW Syndicate 1856 paper.
