Elisabeth Groehe and George Connell have been promoted to lead IQUW’s Portfolio Solutions offering.
They will both be reporting to Chris Wilkinson, IQUW’s Head of Specialty.
Launched as a pilot program in 2024, IQUW Portfolio Solutions will expand under Groehe and Connell’s leadership to include both Specialist Risks and Structured Solutions.
This strategic move underscores IQUW’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of a dynamic market, the firm stated.
Groehe and Connell will engage with brokers worldwide, taking a portfolio underwriting approach tailored to the specific requirements of consortia, managing general agents (MGAs), and broker facilities.
Groehe has been part of IQUW since 2021, when she joined as Professional Lines Underwriter (D&O/FI). She was then appointed Senior Underwriter Professional – Lines (D&O/FI), the role she held prior to her promotion.
Prior to his promotion, Connell served as Digital and Innovations Underwriter, a role he held following his position as Senior Underwriter at IQUW.

With this approach, IQUW aims to build further with parties that are seeking high levels of service from empowered underwriters on niche and complex risks.
Connell added: “The focus on Specialist Risk and Structured Solutions is a natural extension of IQUW’s data-driven, client-focused approach. Not only is our team committed to collaborating with coverholders, insurers and brokers to facilitate strategic solutions that deliver long-term value, but we will bring our own insights to create a data-driven proposition that provides quick responses to brokers and clients.”
