IRB Brasil Re delays release of Q1 results amid COVID-19

IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (IRB Brasil Re) has announced that it has postponed the release of its first-quarter 2020 financial results amid the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

irb brasil reIn an announcement to its shareholders and the market, the Chief Financial and Investor Relations Officer of the Rio de Janeiro-based reinsurer, Werner Romera Suffert, said that IRB Brasil Re had decided to postpone its Q1 results announcement until June 18th, 2020.

As a result, the reinsurer’s first-quarter 2020 conference call has been postponed until June 19th, 2020. Additionally, IRB Brasil Re also informs that the updated Annual Calendar of Corporate Events is available for reference, already reflecting the above date change.

Towards the end of April, the Brazilian reinsurer reported that it had decided to withdraw its profit guidance for 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The news came shortly after the firm announced that certain members of its Board of Directors had resigned in light of the pandemic.
