The Board of Directors of Pacific Insurance Brokers (EA) Limited and First Reinsurance Brokers Africa Limited (FirstRe), have announced the appointment of experienced insurance and reinsurance professional, Jacinta Karita, as the new Group Chairperson, effective July 23rd, 2019.
She brings more than 33 years’ experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector, having previously working for Kenya Re and later serving as Group Managing Director of both Pacific Insurance and FirstRe.
Prior to her appointment as Chairperson, she served on the Board of FirstRe as an Independent Director. An Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London, Karita was the first woman in Kenya to qualify as a Fellow in Reinsurance.
She has served the insurance and reinsurance industry in numerous ways, including as the Examination Secretary of the Insurance Institute of Kenya; a board member of the Association of Insurance Brokers of Kenya as a Treasurer; and also as a member of the Industry’s Rates and Risk Evaluation committee, among others.
