Rokstone, an international specialty re/insurance managing general agent (MGA), has appointed James Hebert as Head of US Financial Lines to lead the launch of its new US Errors & Omissions (E&O) Division.
In his new role, Hebert will be based in New York and will lead the build out of the new division, bringing extensive underwriting expertise, deep broker relationships, and a proven track record in building successful financial lines portfolios.
Most recently, he served at AIG as the Head of Professional Liability & Cyber, North America.
A-rated capacity has been provided by Builders Insurance since the launch of the firm, with an initial USD 5 million line for professional liability. The combination of experienced underwriting leadership, high-quality paper, and advanced technology strengthened Rokstone’s ambitions to be a market leader in financial lines risks across a broad range of products, beginning with professional liability.
The MGA explained that a key component of the US financial lines strategy will be the deployment of Aventum’s proprietary ATOMX platform, enabling end-to-end quote, bind, and issuance capabilities across multiple segments.
The platform will support SME and mid-market risks through a streamlined digital trading experience, and facilitate open-market placement for larger and more complex risks, ensuring speed, consistency, and underwriting discipline across all account sizes.
Ian Anson, Chief Executive Officer, Rokstone, commented on the appointment, “James is one of the most respected financial lines leaders in the US market. His appointment reflects our commitment to investing in exceptional talent and building best-in-class specialty products. With A-rated capacity from Builders Insurance and the power of the ATOMX platform, we are uniquely positioned to deliver a modern, efficient, and highly competitive financial lines proposition for our broker partners.”
Todd Campbell, President & CEO, Builders, said, “Builders is delighted to continue its fantastic relationship with Rokstone by supporting this launch. Rokstone has a proven ability to build highly specialised portfolios led by top-tier underwriting talent, and James is exactly that. We look forward to working with him and the wider team as they develop this exciting new proposition.”
Hebert added, “I’m excited to be joining Rokstone at such an important stage of its growth. The business has a strong entrepreneurial culture, a clear vision for the US market, and the backing of high-quality A-rated capacity through Builders Insurance.
“The addition of the ATOMX platform is a real differentiator, enabling us to deliver fast, consistent quote-to-bind capability for SME and mid-market business, while still providing the expertise and flexibility required for larger, more complex risks. I look forward to working closely with our broker partners to build a market-leading financial lines platform.”
