Jean to succeed Kelley as President and CEO of EMC

Bruce Kelley, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EMC Insurance Companies (EMC), has told the Employers Mutual Casualty Company (EMCC) Board of Directors that he is retiring from the company in March, 2020.

EMC InsuranceKelley has been with EMC since 1985 and has led the firm to high levels of performance during his tenure. EMC states that in anticipation of Kelley’s retirement, the board has been working on a succession plan for some years in order to ensure a smooth transition.

As part of the transition, EMC explains that Kelley will step down from his role as President and Treasurer of EMC Insurance Companies on January 3rd, 2020. Effective on this date, Scott Jean will be named President and Treasurer of EMC Insurance Companies and will report directly to the EMCC Board of Directors.

On March 11th, 2020 Kelley will also retire from his duties as CEO of EMC, with Jean on that date becoming President, Treasurer and CEO of EMC Insurance Companies.

David Proctor, Chairman of the EMCC Board of Directors, said: “We thank Bruce for his years of dedication to the success of EMC. His legacy of unwavering leadership will live on, and I wish him the best in his retirement. And congratulations to Scott Jean as he takes on the leadership of EMC.”
