Jim Botsis joins Acrisure Re as Head of Chicago

Acrisure Re, the reinsurance division of fintech company Acrisure, has announced the appointment of Jim Botsis as Head of Chicago, and his addition to the North American Executive Committee.

Botsis is to take over his new role immediately. He will be primarily responsible for expanding Acrisure Re’s Midwestern footprint while also acting as an advisor on regional business across North America.

In addition, he will also focus on identifying synergies within Acrisure to optimise organic growth opportunities and cross sell products.

As Head of Chicago, Botsis will be reporting to Michael Cross, President of Acrisure Re North America, who commented: “I’m pleased to welcome Jim to our expanding global team. With his extensive industry knowledge and network, Jim will play a pivotal role in expanding our reinsurance presence and capabilities in the Midwestern United States.”

Botsis brings more than 25 years of industry experience and is joining Acrisure Re from BMS, where he was Executive Vice President for 13 years.

He is a prominent advocate for the reinsurance industry having consulted for multiple state insurance regulation departments on the industry’s behalf, Acrisure Re noted.

The executive’s background is focused on the agricultural industry, and he has placed specific agricultural reinsurance programs for both large, national and regional companies. He has also worked with agricultural aggregators to secure capital for the sector.

Commenting on his appointment, Botsis said: “I have always admired Acrisure Re’s commitment to collaboration, bringing innovative solutions backed by expertise to the market.
