Global reinsurance broker JLT Re has hired a new managing director for its Thailand operations from rival Willis Re, appointing Khun Parkpoome Nivatvongs (Poome) to the role.
The hiring and appointment of Poome expands the JLT Re Asia Pacific management team. Poome will report to Kenny Moyes CEO of Asia, JLT Re and be based in Bangkok.
Kenny Moyes commented on the appointment; “We are very pleased that Poome has joined our growing team, he has extensive experience in Treaty reinsurance and an excellent market reputation in the region. Poome’s market perspective will benefit clients as well as bringing significant expertise and a proven track record.”
Poome was most recently a Divisional Director (Head of Thailand) for Willis Re and was based in Singapore. Prior to that he held a number of senior roles in Thailand, at Asian Reinsurance Corporation, Tokio Marine, and as Reinsurance Manager for Southeast Insurance Co., Ltd Thailand.
