Oliver Kaufmann has been appointed to the role of Senior Underwriter, Property Treaty at Munich Re Japan, joining the global reinsurance giant from New Reinsurance Company Ltd. (NewRe).
In his new role, Kaufmann will be based in Tokyo, Japan.
During his 10-year tenure at NewRe, Kaufmann served in a number of different roles.
He joined the firm in 2014 as an Intern, where he worked in various departments, such as technical accounting, property underwriting & investments.
Fast-forward to 2015, he was then appointed to the role of Associate Underwriter, where he worked within property treaty reinsurance.
In 2019, he then took on the role of Property Underwriter, and would serve in this role until 2022, when he was promoted to Senior Property Underwriter.
In related news, Munich Re recently announced the formation of a global parametric team focusing on natural catastrophe risk transfer solutions.
The team brings together experienced colleagues from around the globe.
