Kershaw to succeed Whelan as Lancashire CFO

Lancashire Holdings Limited has announced that Natalie Kershaw will replace Elaine Whelan as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective March 1st, 2020.

Lancashire logoCurrently the firm’s Chief Accounting Officer, Kershaw brings almost two decades of insurance and reinsurance industry experience to the role.

She has been with Lancashire since December 2009 and has worked in the company’s offices in both London and Bermuda. Prior to Lancashire, Kershaw held roles with Swiss Re and PwC. Effective March 1st, 2020, Kershaw is also set to join the Lancashire Board.

As announced back in May, current Group CFO Whelan plans to retire during the course of 2020. She joined the firm in 2006, becoming Group CFO at the beginning of 2011 and then an Executive Director on the company’s Board in early 2013.

Lancashire’s Chairman, Peter Clarke, commented: “My Board colleagues and I are delighted to announce Natalie’s appointment as our new Group CFO and her appointment to the Board. She has a detailed knowledge of the Group and its activities and is an excellent choice to lead the Group’s finance function going forward. She will be working with Elaine to ensure a smooth transition into her new role.”

Alex Maloney, Lancashire Group’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), added: “Natalie has been an insightful and dedicated member of the Group’s finance team for nearly ten years, and it is testament to the strength of our management team and her ability that we are announcing her appointment today. She is the right candidate for the roIe and I am sure she will add further insight and analysis to the Board going forward.”
