Law firms form alliance to service multinational re/insurers

24th January 2017 - Author: Staff Writer

Four law insurance firms have joined forces to create a new model of collaboration, Legalign – designed to service insurers and reinsurers and their clients across the globe.

Legalign Global’s four founding member firms are German BLD Bach Langheid Dallmayr, DAC Beachcroft in the UK, Wilson Elser in the U.S. and Wotton & Kearney in Australia.

Daniel J. McMahon, Wilson Elser Chairman, said; “Legalign Global, unlike networks of loosely affiliated law firms, is a closely-knit, integrated alliance with a codified global Client Service Charter that helps ensure all member firms deliver consistent, quality service to our clients.

“We are honoured to join with such outstanding law firms and look forward to serving current and prospective clients as part of this unique and impressive alliance.”

The alliance of law firms was conceived to help the multinational insurance market navigate complex national and local regulation and legislation; it offers legal services in the key areas of re/insurance coverage, re/insurance defence, and insurance regulatory & compliance.

Legalign Global also promises to provide re/insurers intellectual capital with local insight and international reach on cost efficiencies and innovative claims solutions.

DAC Beachcroft Managing Partner, David Pollitt, said: “This is a fantastic move for all four firms.  We are proud to be a Legalign founding member and excited about the opportunities this arrangement will bring to our clients and to our people in the coming years.

“The synergies between our respective clients, our service capabilities and our cultures are genuinely noteworthy. That makes the opportunity to join forces an exciting one both for us and for our clients, many of which will feel the benefit of this comprehensive new global offering with almost immediate effect. We can’t wait to continue to build on what we have already achieved.”

Collectively, the group boasts 2,000 lawyers in 58 offices throughout Europe, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the U.S.
